First Tooth & Fat Lip

FINALLY!!! She does have teeth in there. After 8 months of lots of drool and constant chewing of the fingers and thumb and toys and blankets and clothes... Cora Grace is the proud owner of... a tooth nubbin. :) Her bottom middle left tooth (I'm sure there's a technical term for this but I'm just a mom, not a dentist so it's ok) finally poked through today! WAY TO GO BABY! We are so excited for her to have teeth yet I have never been so in love with a child's gums before so I will miss that gummy smile of hers as I'm a SURE the rest are soon to follow. Cousin Juliet probably has a mouthful by now but she will be very proud of you too. Symptoms of the tooth coming through: hasn't been finishing some of her bottles for the past week, spit up her ENTIRE bottle at church today in 6 or so separate occasions, including once on mommy's skirt then once on mommy's shirt and the most creative... outside the bishops office on the floor. Thanks for a fun filled day at church babe. ;) xoxo

Evan was having a pretty good day today as far as a 2 year old go (wink and big grin) and as we finished up dinner and Evan was following Mike to get his diaper changed, he got all excited to show me his pockets (hands in them) on his *'relaxing pants' so he jumped up really high and one foot landed on a hard plastic teether of C.G.'s... which was on our wood floor and BAM!, like a sack of potatoes, the poor thing was face first on the ground. I DID NOT like this. I may have become mildly dramatic about it momentarily but the kid was bleeding! All us mother's know, no matter how good Daddy's are, we want to make the baby feel better and fix it but I was holding C.G. and Mike was there swooping him up before I could react. He was a good daddy and husband, keeping us both calm. Mike went to clean him up while I looked for the appropriate cold compress... a Popsicle right!? "NO, don't want it" (between sobs). Oh well, eventually once the bulk of the trauma was over, he gladly accepted his beloved sucker and even willingly let me take a picture of his mouth. I am thankful there is no tooth damage that we can see and that we have a super hero daddy that was there to help his son (and mildly hysterical wife... shhh). Love you boys!

*Relaxing Pants: a term used to describe Mike's after work clothes, specifically his basketball shorts of which my sister Carlyn affectionately also named named them "Shiny Shorts" when she lived with us for 6 months a few years ago. :) At Mike's request, he have been sure to get Evan a few pairs of pants that aren't pjs or pants, they are 'relaxing pants'. lol

Around the house like a picture taking mouse...

Let's start off with Evan's newest love, a Yo Gabba Gabba, Nap Mat that his daddy found for him. He sleeps with it every afternoon and night. The chenille blanket is super light and soft so when I rub it on Evan's cheek, his eyes roll back in his head! lol. :)

Here is where Evan is playing outside and I saw a moment to pose my baby in a standing position. I did not however have to direct her in looking for her brother, she is WELL aware of where he is at every moment. <3...

 There he is!

So here's the picture proof of Cora Grace sitting up on her own! Good job! I know I have posted posed shots before but I promise, she did this all by herself, what a talented tot. :) Mommy and Daddy and Evan for that matter, are so proud of you. xo

 Hungry?

Ok, ok, guilty again for posing a standing baby. Obviously she is capable but she is not pulling herself up and as a fact, she started 'complaining' soon after these photos started cause I think it was too much on her chubby legs. Eek! I just want to eat those little drumsticks (and did nibble on them a little bit this week, he he he. Don't worry, I ate up Evan too a little bit)

After a lunch of corn dog, chips and "dip it" (Evan's word for ketchup and in this case, also mustard), of which he 'geled' his hair with the 'dip it'... We found some stickers from Christmas that Evan wanted to wear. It's not especially interesting information but he's so dang cute, I just had to document it. :)

There are only a few, teeny tiny things that Cora does that are not considered cute: spitting up is one or as we so eloquently call it, "barfing". In this next photo array, she is not clothed temporarily because she had 'barfed' one too many times on her outfit (aka pajamas that she wears all day cause hey, I ain't goin' no where's). For your pleasure, here is documented proof of 'turning lemons into lemonade' when C.G. is still finding ways to be freaking adorable in a diaper, baby legs and pink socks. Oh, and drool, cause hers is adorable too. :) I had layed her in her crib while attending some catastrophe Evan was creating in the other room, no doubt. When I came back, she was sitting up and all tangled in her crib like this! LMBO! :)

Only a little taste of the JOY Evan evokes in Cora.

Seriously these photos are 100% percent a chance to document one of Evan's other new obsessions: Identifying and NOT touching, our dog Smokey's poop in the yard. ah ha ha ha! It is hilarious. He runs directly to the poop (the one I identified to him a few days ago so he wouldn't step on it and I informed him at that time, "it is yucky" - meaning: don't touch), then he crouches down while looking at it, puts both hands palms down about 5 inches away from it and starts swooshing them (like 'wax a floor' from the original Karate Kid) saying, "Yucky Smokey Poo Poo, noO touch, noO touch" (while also shaking his head). It is precious and could never be properly caught on video so I wouldn't even try (plus I don't want to video my dogs doo doo).
Shopping for doo doo? I think not but THIS would be the outfit to do it. lol.

Now we are at today. Evan is looking at me through the cardboard that surrounded C.G.'s Peaches from tonight. On his own, they became a binocular apparently. Cora entertained herself by eating an alphabet letter while kicking the refrigerator and then rewarded us by making her super silly squishy spitting face. I love it!

Peaches for the first time tonight and she LOVED them! (and the lid)
"Dear Lord, Thank you for these peaches and this lid, Amen"
 cutest helper in town...

Ok, the cherry on top.... Tonight Evan comes walking up to me like this! Anyway, it's a Lion from Cora's baby swing that has a small patch of Velcro on it. Somehow, Evan discovered that it could stick to his diaper... right there!! ha ha ha ha. This is quite possible the best thing he has done so far and it's really hard to choose! lol. I love you little guy.

p.s. Today I was kissing little C.G. all over and tickling her and making her laugh while we were playing with Evan in his room. While down in her face, he comes over and bends down to put his puckered little lips right in my face. I wasn't prepared for this instigation of affection and hesitated momentarily before meeting his little kiss. Then he said, what every mommy wants to hear their child say on their own, unprovoked...
 "I love you mommy".
Ahhh, hearts melting everywhere, swoon, swoon, swoon!.... :)

Playground and Zoo time

So, we've had some pretty cold weather and quite a bit of snow. In our house at least, that means a lot of inside the house time until... last Monday when the SUN came out to play!! Whoo hoo! Outside we went to the park. I was telling Evan that's where we were going on the way and he was in a 2 year old mood so he said, "No, don't want it park" (about 3 times). His tune changed once we pulled in the parking lot and he caught a glimpse of: "SLIDE down!?" ha ha ha. I could barely contain him while we undoing seat belts and where do you think he went first?....

... Oh yeah.. the slide. :)

Oh, and C.G. was there too but was limited to the stroller, poor thing.

Next, we went to the Zoo last Wednesday with my friend Linda and her two adorable dependants. ;) Let's face it, this trip was all about girlfriend time and had nothing at all to do with seeing animals or what our kids wanted to do. ha ha ha.
Here is beautiful Linda supporting me as we forced our babies in the same swing  but... look how adorable this is!? You would do it too... wouldn't you? :)

 Linda's other little man.

Oh, and the animals.. whatever.... he he he.
(these are literally the only animals we saw this day)
