PEZ

Tonight I was enjoying my favorite Christmas gift aside from Michael buying me a great necklace I LOVE, wireless headphones to watch TV with once the kids go to bed. With our cozy home and light sleeper Cora, it's hard to have 'me time' to get my 'Bachelor' or "Big Brother' or "Parenthood' etc on. Evan veeeerrrrrrry rarely wakes in the night but tonight woke around 11p? and wanted to cuddle. As I said, I was in "me time" so I encouraged him to cuddle with daddy. ;). Once settling him into cuddles with a very willing daddy, I went about tidying a few things before back to my show when I noticed the kids (empty) Snowman Pez dispensers and refill near by propped up on the kitchen counter. (similar to this)
I know how my children love to rummage through the house before we wake up and even though I shouldn't be encouraging it... I did what any self respecting loving parent would, I filled each Pez despenser with 5 pez each for them to find in the morning. Evan's is all white where as CG's face is clear. I wanted to encourage sharing so after doing my 'elfing' I went to Evan in our bedroom to help clarify without giving away my secret plot, who's is who's so they hopefully give eachother their own pez (we'll see!). I asked Evan which pez was his, he seemed confused a bit so I suggested that maybe the all white one was his and the clear faced one was Coras. He agreed and went on to elaborate on the details describing his own as "all white in the face and body and coras is all white body but a 'glass' face."lol. but then he warned me, "they are on the counter top (then wagging his finger back and forth), but don't look in them because you will be surprised that there is nothing in there. There is nothing in there, so don't look at them (still wagging the finger)" Mike and I just always look at each other and laugh, not wanting to slow the free talk for fear we will lose out on a jem like this conversation about pez. I wouldn't be surprised if I got in trouble in the morning when he finds these. He's a rule keeper once he understands them so he may think it's bad to have candy at all much less in the morning. On the other hand, he may eat it and never tell me. ha ha ha.

Happy New Year!

I'm back! I'm back! I'm back!
Mike finally helped me figure out how to buy more photo space. :) So, you could say my resolution is to catch up on old posts and start posting current ones. I have missed so much :( but I want to document it for when I print this blog. In the mean time...
Happy New Year!
Here's a little review of our families life:
Mike is happy as ever working both his full time job with Tre and at Red Realty part/full time (lets face it, he's always available). He's currently our ward clerk and it's right down his ally of organization obsession. :)
Lila is blissfully getting the best of both the stay at home mom world for a majority of the week and also getting to do hair still in the salon world. Dispite not blogging, she's continued with her love of taking pictures of the kids (including the one above). She is thrilled to finally have a calling in Primary, teaching Valiant 10. Sad she was unable to visit California this year but is hoping for a summer visit?? What else is she hoping for... more babies! Let's just all work on Mike so that can happen, ok? ;) Thank you.
Evan is 4 now and getting sweeter and smarter everyday. There are constant revelations of : "Mommy?... I love you, you are my best friend." Daddy is also his best friend. In fact, daddy taught the kids a song when I was at work one day from a movie, but changed the lyrics "We are the 4 best friends, that anyone could have, anyone could have, anyone could have..." :). No one has heard the circumstances around their birth more than our son, he requests a dictation of his birth events often after mommy started doing it to keep the kids calm in the car. Evan also knows Coras birth story exhists out there so will request her's after we tell his. :). He loves being a big brother and will play with girl or boy things with no problems, loves playing with Thomas stuff, trains in general and cars. He's attached at the hip with his 'big green blankie' that his daddy bought him last year. He also loves his stuffed animals, writing his name and any other words you tell him how to spell. He could play outside everyday, no matter the weather and most of the time does. :) Would love to have a baby brother or sister fyi.
Cora Grace is every bit and more of her 2 1/2 years. Boy is she giving us a run for our money. Evan was only very active at her age but she is really "terrible 2's"! :) Oh, we love her all right but she is a maniac! ha ha ha. She looooooooves her big brother and plays very well with him except when she snatches a toy from him he's played with and runs across the house to throw it out of his reach! ha ha ha. What will we do with her? ;) Anyway, she's trying harder to talk more clearly which is great but Evan serves often as her interpreter much to our relief and pride. As for her loves and habits, her first love is her baby dolls and putting them to sleep all over the floor of the house. Its like baby doll graveyard land mines that we trip on at every turn. sigh... I cannot convince her to move them to the couch. I'm pretty sure it's because they sleep like that at day care 2 days a week, on the ground, covered by blankets, its basically hilarious. Other than her dolls and her own, "2 blankies" obsession, anything with Evan is pure joy. We've got our eye on her though, she's fast and furious but still... adorable so gets away with EVERYTHING with EVERYONE. No fair! :) Also would love to be a big sister. I can see it now, Cora climbing in the crib to hold and shush the baby... :/ on second thought.... oh, we'll figure it out. :)
Happy 2013!!!
