Kermit the Frog and Little Miss Piggy

My beautiful babies let me dress them up again this year! Whoo Hoo! victory! I just had to find a duo that I had green for my green obsessed Evan. :). Now I just didn't know if my opinionated 3 year old would put a pig nose on and be Miss Piggy. ha ha ha. I ordered the sweat suit through my beloved Amazon, in Kelly Green from two different sites (so the green doesn't exactly match but it's all good) then I already had both white, black and light green felt for his accents. I literally only tacked the eyes, collar, hands and feet to the sweats so we can use the sweats regularly after. Also Mike cut the pupils while I tacked just 15 or so minutes before we left the house for the Fall Festival we went to. Cora's ensemble was more fun to shop for on the same site. I didn't look for "Miss Piggy" stuff. That would be waaay too easy. ha ha ha. Instead I had in my mind what I wanted; a glamorous dress that could be reused as C.G.'s first dress up dress! I ordered her a 'flapper' style dress, white boa and a pink pig nose/tail/ears set that I crossed my fingers would all fit. The rest was already owned; flashy pink boots, pink tights, long sleeved white shirt (for under modesty and warmth), necklaces and a  play purse to carry her candy in. :)
Of course they were a hit where ever they went and the costume contest you see in the last picture was... a joke. There was an adorable baby/mouse in a mouse trap and a "mutt kutts" (dumb and dumber) wagon that was priceless and one of them would have won if they actually awarded anything. Still, our kids would have won best duo! :) We love our babies. <3

Cora Grace was the best sport for wearing the pig nose! The plastic band that wrapped over her ear caused almost a blister;/. The sweet thing never complained, she LOVED being a piggy!! She even shook her tail whenever asked (I cut little slits in the back seem of her dress to accompany a Velcro tail made, I assume to go on a belt loop. It worked perfectly!) and also performed karate chops to "Kermit" on demand. ;) ha ha ha.

Tutu Photo Shoot and Assistants

This is the tutu made by Aunt Jen for our twin birthday daughters. Cora wore it in her birth photoshoot, 6 months and one year photo shoot and I wanted at least one more time but who knows, maybe year 3 will see it again? :)
As soon as I mentioned I was going to take their pictures, Evan jumped at the chance to request his own camera (i thought he'd forgotten about it to be honest but he knew right where it was even) and to also take pictures with me of C.G. :) He wanted to be my assistant! So precious, it was really sweet and he did a great job as you will see at the bottom. He never got in my way either, just sat next to me, doing and saying what I was doing and saying.

Here's Cora Grace's 2 year tutu shoot;

and here are my photography assistants. ;)

the real child. lol.

"Look mommy, I'm taking a picture of the air vent!" I really like that you can see his view finder of what his picture is.

Here are Evan's and a few of Cora Grace's pictures...

This cracks me up that she took this one of herself.

I couldn't choose between these two that Evan took. The one above looks like some sort of art. I love it.

"cheese"

Evan took AT LEAST 10 pictures of just his ankle/foot. lol.

lol.

"Mommy, I just am taking pictures of that fan!" Again, there were at least 15 pictures of his beloved fan. ha ha ha.

the famous air vent. love this little guy.

2 year check up.

You would think I could get it together to remember what our dearest pediatrician said about Cora's numbers and etc but here's a picture of the chaos that is, our Dr.s appointments:

I  L O V E  Dr. Coleman. She has shown great love and attention to my babies from their first breath, always holding and hugging them when we come for visits. This week, we finally had Cora's 2 year check up (no shots?! awesome!) Here, you can see that she just plopped herself down on the floor with CG cause that's where Cora was... coloring. As soon as Dr.C got down there, my sweet baby picked her bum up and plopped it right back down but in Dr.C's lap. :) There was a group "awwe" there after. :) I asked permission to take a picture of it and this was the best I could get on my phone camera (btw, even though I SPECIFICALLY told the salesman that I would use this phone for a secondary camera and  I wanted that part to be great quality, I do not like my camera on this droid bionic, at, all. I was totally willing to buy an IPhone and wish I did because the pics I see there are amazing!). Annnnyway, she had a great time on the ground with Cora and Evan who insisted on every time Cora's heart or ears were checked, he would say, "my turn?" and tilt his head to give her his ear or lift his shirt to be probed. lol. He even asked if she would give him medicine... like, he wanted it. lol. sigh... it's a dirty job but someone has to report on these things. lol. :) In the chaos I didn't get my normal sheet with her stats on it but of what I can remember, she's in the 13th% with height and weight (24?? pounds) combined. And the only thing there is a question about is the fact Cora doesn't say words yet. Over wrestling with the kids to behave and stop touching EVERYTHING, I'm pretty sure we agreed to watch her and Mike and I would make more pointed efforts to singly work with her words/alphabet, away from Evan (no, we don't know how that will happen lol.) for the next 6 months before they refer us to observation or a specialist etc. So, there you go. Here's a picture of Cora doing one of her favorite things, laying her babies on their tummy's to go to sleep, laying 'blankets' on them and 'patting' them to sleep like her teachers at day care :). so precious.

Curly hair Straight

Just for fun, I have wanted to blow out Cora's curls to see what it would look like (was there really a question as to whether she would still be adorable? no.) and tonight after baths I did it. :) She was so good while I round brushed her hair. I didn't go so far as to flat iron it or anything but the round brush stretched out her curls quite nicely. Her hair is so long! Of course she wouldn't sit that still for pictures but you get the gist. :) I can't believe she will be two in 2 months. We don't have 'babies' anymore, although, since she still doesn't talk, she helps us hold on to her baby-ness.

PIGTAIL DREAMS & SIBLING SWEETIES

I have been ready to have some fun with Cora Grace's hair finally so for Christmas I bought her a pack of rubber bands in hopes to try out pigtails. Who knows where they are and I've been really wanting them. Not only am I a mom of my first little girl but I'm a hairstylist for goodness sakes so I need to be the one who gets to do her hair. She's been wearing her cute big bow out of necessity. It keeps her bangs out of her eyes while they grow with her hair but her hair is growing so much the bows slip a lot. Hence the wanting of the rubber bands I bought. It wasn't an emergency or anything but I was "side swiped" by her day care before I could resolve the case of the lost accessories and finally do something more with her hair. You see... Mike picked the kids up last week and there she was with pig tails in her hair!? Of course she looked adorable and they all love her so much they probably couldn't stand it to wait any longer for pigtails but I was robbed, I tell you! :) Sigh... oh well, I really was disappointed but I resolved myself to do them better and cuter so here you go.
I give you... Cora Grace, in Pigtails:

Once the pigtails were in, there was no turning back so I bundled those babies up and forced them to be mamarazzi'ed in the back yard. UGH! They are so precious and beautiful. I'm glad I took the time today to do it. I've been in a funk and this is helping me. Photo therapy if you will. (now if it could help my LACK OF housework!)...

Last but not least. Here is a picture of Cora's new thing. Taking off her shoes (old trick) SO to get to her socks, SO she can take them off and put them on her hands! :D ha ha ha ha ha. She even tries to 'talk' with them like a puppet sometimes. Regardless of the reasons, I'm just glad both kids have exhibited a sock obsession. (Evans was featured on my original blog in November 2009. Don't miss his old videos on that post if you go to it. They grow up so fast!). :)
